Professional Experience

Kris has extensive experience at both the trial and appellate levels in State and Federal Courts. He has been an Adjunct Professor at Northwestern State University. With decades of experience and thousands of cases handled, he has the knowledge and skill to help.

Educational Background

He attended the University of Texas at Austin on an academic scholarship and was chosen as the Outstanding Military Science student of the University of Texas. As a Distinguished Military Graduate, he was selected by the United States Army for an elite program to attend the University of Texas School of Law while on active military duty. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin Law School, one of the premier law schools in the nation. He was awarded the American Jurisprudence Award for being the top student in a course taught by the renowned dean of the Law School, Page Keeton, a Harvard Law School graduate. He is also a graduate of the Army Law School at the University of Virginia and studied for a Master of Laws degree at Georgetown University, Washington, D.C.

                                       Military Service

Kris knows what it means to serve and put others first. His distinguished career began in the U.S. Army where he completed flight training and later served as trial counsel in many courts-martial cases. While on active duty in the Washington D.C. area, he was chosen as the Editor-In-Chief of the Criminal Law Journal of the Army's Defense Appellate Division, The Advocate. He also served as the United States Army's Regional Defense Counsel for the Southwest United States and Panama, and served on active military duty during Operation Desert Storm.

             Personal Background

Kris grew up working on his family's ranch and farms across the Great Plains. He has been happily married to his wife, Susan, since their college days, and together they have three children and six grandchildren. For over forty years, they have been active members and leaders in their church. They live on a few acres with their two dogs and horse, and enjoy the times when their children and grandchildren visit, cooking out, sitting by the fire pit, taking horseback rides and fishing in their pond.

 Alaska

Kris and his wife enjoy spending time in Alaska, where he fishes for salmon, trout, and halibut. Putting his military flight training to good use, he flies bush planes over mountains, rivers, and wilderness, home to bald eagles, mountain goats, moose, and both black and grizzly bears.

To them, its God's creation as it was meant to be.
